BODY ROCK 2012 COMMERCIAL!
This commercial produced from myself as well as Anna Sarao wanted to show a dancers perspective on “why we dance” what really motivates a dancer to compete. Its not to show the only reasons to dance, but a side that motivates people in a positive way. Its a story of a guy played by myself, who is dreaming about performing at Body Rock. He is moments away from being on stage, and what drives the character to compete is his LOSES. In life, we can’t let a loss be a loss, a loss should transform into a gain.
Also, we didn’t want to have this commercial to JUST be dance, we wanted the words of wisdom to carry the commercials. If you listen to the words, I think what captivates me the most is when I say,
“on this stage,i’m going to show you what I’ve learned,
on this stage I’m going to show everyone my growth,
and on this stage, EVERYONE is watching.”
Body Rock to most dancers is the super bowl of dance competitions, people all over the globe will see it. What better place to showcase your craft, creativity, as well as, your HEART during Body Rock.
BY THE WAY, that was @theCOMPANYfam on the stage. Also, a little nugget, since this year’s competition is at the ROCK CHURCH in SD, I made the stage of the commercial look like the Rock Church. So when you see the rock, I hope you can point out the commercial when you watch Body Rock on May 26.
If you thought I only did video editing, here is a choreography project I did with Luis for SGBM. Its Nothing too serious. I just felt I had to show some of my dancing on this blog because my dance background influences my video editing. Sometimes when you film dance you either make it boring or you make it entertaining. Being a dancer, you know what to put on the screen, you know what parts to show or not to show, you know how to capture performance, and most of all emotion. We can definitely make an entertaining dance, but putting it on screen is a different story.
Anyways, I’m kinda embarrassed with this video, cause i’m not going full out, I mess up, this was a long time ago and the choreo was decent, but I have to show I’m a dancer nonetheless
I just wanted to inform everybody, that I’m putting up all my latest videos on my Vimeo channel. One benefit is the SGBM documentary is in its entirety in one long video. The next thing is Vimeo is a great place for film makers that are really persuing a career in film. I just wanted to showcase some of my art, so I can see if I can capture a different audience other than the dance community. Hopefully I can make an audience with actual film makers. BTW I just finished KEONE’s new SHORT FILM, it will be coming soon. We just have some logistics we need to finish before its released
Some people say, “its all about a 1st place trophy and prize money” WELL I hate to say it to you guys BUT, THEY ARE RIGHT, i love having a trophy and prize money. MUHAHAHA I’m in the money !!!! i aint finni let 3rd place GO!!
btw that was a joke if you don’t understand my sarcasm
